    Performance evaluation for high speed vehicle in VANET

    Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) is a high dynamic emerging technology for supporting wireless communication among vehicles. Communication via routing packets over the high-speed vehicles is a challenging task. Vehicles mobility speed can varies depending on the road specification. However in highways speed can be increased up to 120 – 200 Km/hr. moving in high speed can affect the efficiency of data delivery. In particular V2I traffic where moving car trying to deliver data to fixed space units which are designed to collected and process data from vehicles. In this paper, we investigated the consequences on increasing vehicle mobility speed in term of data delivery evaluation metrics including network throughput, delay and packet delivery ration. Results shows that in high speed mobility VANET, network throughput it decreased, and packet delivery ration is decreased as well

    Dalam pandangan Islam, hakikat kepribadian sesungguhnya merupakan konsekuensi keimanan seorang muslim, yakni bahwa ia harus memegang identitas muslimnya dalam seluruh aktivitas kesehariannya. Identitas itu nampak pada kepribadian seorang muslim, yakni pada pola berpikir (aqliyyah) dan pola bersikapnya (nafsiyyah) yg dilandaskan pada nilai-nilai ajaran Islam. Yang mana sumber nilai-nilai ajaran islam itu terdapat pada Al-Qur’an dan Hadits. Jadi secara esensial, kepribadian islam itu tersusun dari pola berpikir dan pola bersikapnya seseorang. Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai islam dalam setiap aktifitas kampus. Dalam memaksimalkan dakwah di dalam kampus, Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor mengadakan beberapa kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh PUSKI (Pusat Kajian Islam).Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran PUSKI dalam membentuk kepribadian islam civitas akademika Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor, dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa  program-program PUSKI tidak hanya menyusun program-program khusus untuk mahasiswa. Namun, PUSKI juga menyusun kegiatan-kegiatan yang disusun

    FDI and regulation with particular reference to entry of multinational supermarket firms into Malaysia

    This dissertation has concentrated on a study of a particular class of foreign direct investment (FDI) and multinational firms (MNFs), that of services and supermarket firms. This focus contrasts sharply with most previous works on FDI, which have concentrated on manufacturing FDI and manufacturing firms. While the empirical works on FDI have also typically used aggregated data in conjunction with econometric methods to establish statistically significant determinants, this dissertation in addition has looked more deeply at micro economic analysis. This dissertation is also different from previous works because it has considered FDI from various perspectives, including not only from the well-known perspective of the FDI theory but also from a firm specific approach of vertical integration and regulation. In contrast to the macro and aggregative results of the FDI approach the results stemming from the micro methodology are disaggregated and firm specific.The key feature of the aggregate FDI approach taken here is a service-manufacturing distinction. Based on that distinction it is shown that there is a difference in the magnitude of the variables (relative to their standard errors) between services and manufacturing FDI in Malaysia and also for the UK. These results, which are established and explored in Chapter Five, suggest that at a macro level there is a service related result quite different from the manufacturing case for any government seeking to attract services as well as manufacturing FDI. One of the key variables to the services manufacturing distinction is the openness variable and this variable is also central in the context of regulation.This dissertation has also looked at vertical integration analysis because MNFs and firms in the supermarket activity are vertically integrated or coordinated corporations spanning services as well as manufacturing related activities. In this context this dissertation has expanded on the earlier work on vertical integration by Hasan and Ryan (2003) and has also given a multinational dimension to that analysis. It has looked at the factors affecting the degree of integration or coordination between retailers and suppliers and ways in which a relative advantage in productivity may relate to a difference in the transfer price. Additionally it comprehends the distributional impact on profits, suppliers, workers and consumers. It is argued that in the multinational interpretations a net welfare gain to the host nation may only accrue to its consumers because profits of the MNFs may be taken out of the country and inputs may be outsourced, benefiting suppliers or workers from different nations instead of the host country.The micro economic approach has also looked at regulation mechanisms and ways in which the rate of entry of FDI and the MNFs may be regulated. In this context the openness variable, which is a standard and statistically significant variable in aggregate econometric approaches, is also a key variable in the micro regulation model, where it has a wider application including not only to tariffs on imports and exports but also on the rate of profits. In general the regulation model has shown how variations in the magnitude of taxes on the profits of MNFs may have an impact not only on the rate and magnitude of entry of FDI but also on the type of FDI (manufacturing or services) that is encouraged or discouraged by a host government. In a more specific analysis, the model has also looked at how market structures as well as the level of integration or disintegration may be affected by varying the level of taxes and subsidies on the inputs. These outcomes on vertical integration and regulation, together with the macro aggregate results, may have implications both for theory and for policy, as well as for the way host government may manipulate these aspects.From the theoretical context this dissertation has made contributions to the study on FDI and the MNFs where the analysis has looked at both macro and the micro methodology. The macro analysis has looked at the services-manufacturing distinction, whereas in the disaggregated methodology services and manufacturing may be systematically integrated or coordinated and the services-manufacturing distinction is harder to draw.With regard to policy, this dissertation has looked at the implications for the determinants affecting FDI entry, the multinational interpretations on vertical integration as well as its distributional impact, and also regulation mechanisms. It was shown how results on the impact of regulating taxes and subsidies which may shape industrial structure leading to integration or disintegration may be crucial. In general the policy is to encourage the entry of FDI and the MNFs but with some trade-offs as these firms may drive out local firms. Finally the competition policy in Malaysia is not well developed and therefore not comparable or analogous to the more developed competition policy of the EU and the UK. Therefore there are good grounds for Malaysia to examine the well developed competition policy of these countries, as useful lessons could be drawn from the EU and the UK in particular, where the emphasis might be different

    مستخلص البحث التقويم جزء من عملية التعليم الشاملة التي لا يمكن فصلها عن أنشطة التعلم والتعليم، لأن التقويم هو أداة قياس أو عملية معرفة مستوى تحقيق النجاح الذي حققه الطلاب في المواد التعليمية أو المواد التي تم تسليمها. استناداً إلى المقابلات التي أجراها الباحث مع العديد من الطلاب في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية باتو، يمكن الاستنتاج أنهم يشعرون بالصعوبة والملل عند إجراء تقويم تعليم اللغة العربية. هذا لا ينفصل عن نموذج أولئك الذين يعتقدون أن اللغة العربية مادة صعبة للغاية. انطلاقا من هذه المشكلة، هناك برنامج يمكن استخدامه في تقويم تعليم اللغة العربية خاصة في إختبار المفردات من أجل الحفاظ على التركيز والمرح في المشاركة في إختبار المفردات باستخدام برنامج التعليم وورد وول الذي يهدف إلى تسهيل عملية التقويم للتعليم. أهداف هذه الدراسة هي لمعرفة استخدام و فعالية استخدام وورد وول (Quiz Wordwall) في اختبار المفردات بالمدرسة المتوسطة الحكومية باتو. هذا البحث هو دراسة شبه تجريبية مع أسلوب أخذ العينات بالهدف. كان موضوعات هذا البحث من طلاب الفصل السابع ه و السابع و في المدرسة المتوسطة الحكومية باتو، يوجد 30 طالبا في الفصل الضابطة في الفصل السابع ه و 31 طالبا في الفصل السابع و. طرق جمع البيانات عن طريق الملاحظة و المقابلة و الاختبار و الوثائق. تقنيات معالجة البيانات وتحليل البيانات هي اختبارات الفرضية مع برنامج SPSS 22. نتائج هذه الدراسة : 1) إجراءات إختبار المفردات بأداة وورد وول قام في ثلاثة إجراءات (الإعداد، التطبيق، و إختتام). أما إجراء الاعداد قام الباحث اختبار القبلي ثم يخبرها في اختبار الصلاحية و الموثيقية قبل ان يصنع الاسئلة في أداة وورد وول. في إجراء التطبيق فيه ثلاثة مراحل يعني مرحلة الافتتاح، الأساسية، و الإختتام. 2) على نتائج البحث و اختبار الفرضية فيما يتعلق فعالية أداة وورد وول (Quiz Wordwall) في اختبار المفردات بالمدرسة المتوسطة الحكومية باتو تم الحصول على نتائج اختبار الفرضية ما بعد اختبار البعدي للمجموعة التجريبية و الضابطة بدرجة المعنوية هو 0,52<0,05 . وبالتالي يمكن استنتاج أن هناك فرقا بين استخدام وورد وول و اختبار تقليدية في اختبار المفردات في المدرسة المتوسطة الحكومية باتو. ABSTRAK Evaluasi merupakan bagian dari proses pendidikan yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari kegiatan belajar mengajar, karena evaluasi merupakan alat ukur atau proses untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan yang dicapai peserta didik terhadap materi atau materi pendidikan yang telah ditetapkan. Berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan peneliti dengan beberapa siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mereka merasa kesulitan dan bosan saat melakukan penilaian pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari anggapan mereka yang meyakini bahwa bahasa Arab adalah mata pelajaran yang sangat sulit. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, ada satu program yang dapat digunakan dalam mengevaluasi pembelajaran bahasa Arab khususnya pada tes kosakata agar tetap fokus dan menyenangkan dalam mengikuti tes kosakata menggunakan program pendidikan Wordwall, yaitu bertujuan untuk memudahkan proses evaluasi pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan dan keefektifan penggunaan alat Quiz Wordwall dalam tes kosa kata di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan teknik purposive sampling. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII E dan VII H di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu, kelas kontrol kelas VII E sebanyak 30 siswa dan kelas VII H sebanyak 31 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengolahan data dan analisis data adalah uji hipotesis dengan program SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) Langkah-langkah tes kosakata menggunakan quis Wordwall, yang terdiri dari tiga prosedur (persiapan, penerapan, dan penutup). Adapun prosedur persiapan, peneliti melakukan pre-test kemudian melakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas sebelum membuat soal pada alat Wordwall. Dalam proses penerapannya, terdapat tiga tahapan, yaitu tahap pembukaan, kegiatan inti, dan penutup. 2) Dari hasil penelitian dan uji hipotesis mengenai keefektifan alat Quiz Wordwall dalam tes kosa kata di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu diperoleh hasil hipotesis post-test untuk kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan signifikan skor 0,52 > 0,05. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara penggunaan Word Wall dan tes tradisional pada tes kosakata di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu. ABSTRACT Evaluation is a part of the educational process that cannot be separated from teaching and learning activities, because evaluation is a measuring tool or process to find out the level of success achieved by students against predetermined educational materials. Based on interviews conducted by researchers with several students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu, it can be concluded that students find assessing Arabic learninf difficult and boring for them. This is inseparable from the opinion of those who believe that Arabic is a very difficult subject. Based on these problems, there is a program that can be used in evaluating Arabic language learning, especially on vocabulary tests so that students stay focused and have fun taking the vocabulary test using the Wordwall educational program, aiming to facilitate the educational evaluation process. The purpose of this study was to determine the use and effectiveness of using the Quiz Wordwall tool in the vocabulary test at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu. This research is a quasi-experimental research with purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were students of class VII E and VII H at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu, comprising of 30 and 31 students of VII E and VII H respectively. Data collection methods through observation, interviews, tests and documentation. Data processing and data analysis techniques are hypothesis testing with the SPSS 22 program. The results of this study: 1) The vocabulary test steps used the Wordwall quiz, which consisted of three procedures (preparation, application, and closing). As for the preparatory procedure, the researcher conducted a pre-test and then tested the validity and reliability before making questions on the Wordwall tool. In the implementation process, there are three stages, namely the opening stage, core activities, and closing. 2) Regarding the effectiveness of the Wordwall Quiz tool in the vocabulary test at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu, the post-test hypothesis results for the experimental and control classes were obtained with a significant score of 0.52 > 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a difference in result between the use of the Word Wall and the traditional test on the vocabulary test at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Batu

    Metamaterial superstrate effects to the stacked bandpass filter bowtie antenna performances

    The integration of metamaterial superstrate with high-quality cavity 3-poles stacked filter with bowtie antenna are presented. The metamaterial inspired behavior is obtained using split ring resonators (SRR) printed on the dielectric substrate Rogers 5880 which is located 14mm from the top of the filter/antenna. The effects of the metamaterial structure on the vertically stacked filter/antenna performances at X-band with resonant frequency 10.18GHz are investigated. The gain of the filter/antenna system improved from 7.2dB to 8.5dB while the radiation pattern become more directive without distorting the filtering response

    Optimizing of ANFIS for estimating INS error during GPS outages.

    Global positioning system (GPS) has been extensively used for land vehicle navigation systems. However, GPS is incapable of providing permanent and reliable navigation solutions in the presence of signal evaporation or blockage. On the other hand, navigation systems, in particular, inertial navigation systems (INSs), have become important components in different military and civil applications due to the recent advent of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). Both INS and GPS systems are often paired together to provide a reliable navigation solution by integrating the long-term GPS accuracy with the short-term INS accuracy. This article presents an alternative method to integrate GPS and INS systems and provide a robust navigation solution. This alternative approach to Kalman filtering (KF) utilizes artificial intelligence based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to fuse data from both systems and estimate position and velocity errors. The KF is usually criticized for working only under predefined models and for its observability problem of hidden state variables, sensor error models, immunity to noise, sensor dependency, and linearization dependency. The training and updating of ANFIS parameters is one of the main problems. Therefore, the challenges encountered implementing an ANFIS module in real time have been overcome using particle swarm optimization (PSO) to optimize the ANFIS learning parameters since PSO involves less complexity and has fast convergence. The proposed alternative method uses GPS with INS data and PSO to update the intelligent PANFIS navigator using GPS/INS error as a fitness function to be minimized. Three methods of optimization have been tested and compared to estimate the INS error. Finally, the performance of the proposed alternative method has been examined using real field test data of MEMS grade INS integrated with GPS for different GPS outage periods. The results obtained outperform KF, particularly during long GPS signal blockage

    Pengaruh Tayangan Humor Terhadap Short Term Memory pada Mahasiswa Baru

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  untuk pengetahui pengaruh tayangan humor terhadap short term  memory. Metode humor mampu mengurangi hormon kortisol dan hormon epinephrine sehingga informasi yang diterima dapat diantar ke otak untuk proses storage dan recall. Metode penelitian yaitu metode eksperimental dengan rancangan randomized matched two group design. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 50 partisipan mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Brawijaya dan terdiri dari 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen masing-masing 25 partisipan. Hasil uji independent sample t-test menyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh tayangan humor terhadap kemampuan Short Term Memory partisipan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,001 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05
